Nine qualify for the Ontario Cup
Nine athletes in the Champions Gymnastics competitive program have qualified for the second round of competitions leading to the Provincial Championships.
After this most recent qualifier meet in Oshawa, this group of gymnasts have won thirty-one medals in total with twenty gold, eight silver and three bronze, including six first place overall showings.
Cora Geiger (Level 5), won gold on floor, vault, beam, bars and overall. She is currently ranked first in Ontario, out of a group of eighty girls.
Delaney Stedman (Level 5), earned gold on vault, beam and floor, fifth on bars and gold overall. Delaney is currently ranked first in Ontario out of one hundred and sixty-six girls.
Breanne Webdale (Level 5) earned gold on floor, silver on vault and bars, bronze on beam and gold overall. She is currently ranked second in Ontario out of a group of one hundred and sixty-six girls.
Sidney Armitage (Level 6), earned gold on floor, silver on bars, bronze on vault, placed eighth on beam and won silver overall. She is currently ranked eighth in Ontario out of eighty-two girls.
Robyn Dancey (Level 5), earned gold on bars, bronze on vault, sixth on floor and beam and gold overall. Robyn is currently ranked twenty-fourth in Ontario out of ninety-nine girls.
Denise Alivantov (Level 6), earned gold on bars, beam and floor, silver on vault and gold overall. She is ranked first in Ontario out of eighty-six girls.
Allison Talsma (Level 7), placed sixth on vault and bars, eighth on beam, tenth on floor and seventh overall. Allison is currently ranked sixteenth in Ontario out of sixty four girls.
Sophie Heinlein (Level 6), earned gold on floor, was fourth on vault and bars, seventh on beam and finished fourth overall. She is currently ranked twentieth in Ontario out of forty-three girls.
Claire O’Manique (Level 6), received silver on vault and bars, bronze on floor, placed fourth on beam and earned gold overall. She is ranked sixth in Ontario our of forty-three.
Kelsey Sales is currently training for National Open held at the Ontario Championship. The top nine will advance to the National Championship.
The Ontario Cup competitions are hosted in Orangeville, ON from March 27th to 29th and in St. Catherines, ON from April 3rd to 5th. After the Ontario Cup competitions, twenty-four athletes in each of the various levels and age groups will then qualify for the Provincial Championships.
