The Tiny Twisters program is the earliest stage of our pre-competitive program. This is an annual program that runs from July to June, however new athletes can be recommended into the program at any time throughout the year. Tiny Twisters range in age from 3.5 – 5 years old and train once a week for two hours.
The program is designed for young girls that demonstrate above average physical potential, lots of energy, and an eagerness to learn gymnastics. Tiny Twisters is a developmental program that is structured in a way to challenge the athlete’s but still focus on the “FUN” aspect of the sport of gymnastics. Champions’ aims to provide the Tiny Twisters with a fun, challenging and structured program that will teach them the basic skills and body awareness, attitude and expectations that are required to move into our competitive program.
Entrance into the program is by invitation only. Athlete’s are usually selected from the Kindergym, Advanced Kindergym or Stars recreational programs or from a competitive try out. Once selected, the athlete has the opportunity to attend one training session with the Tiny Twisters group so the athlete, coach, and parents can determine if this program is best suited for the athlete.
Contact Champions Gymnastics Inc. by either a front desk referral or our Email. Please Provide a phone number and one of our staff will contact you for a free in gym trial with a group. After your trial take a few days to think about it, and if you decide to go ahead we will provide all the registration material for the group chosen. We accept athletes year round in these programs.
We offer two Xcel programs. The first is strictly recreational where athletes can explore a higher level of gymnastics and decide if competition is something they would like to try. The
second is an introductory program where athletes can try competitions.

The Mini Elite program is the second stage of our pre-competitive program. This is an annual program that runs from July to June, however new athletes can be recommended into the program at any time throughout the year. Mini Elite is broken down into two programs. Both programs are very progressive and structured. While maintaing the important aspect of “FUN” in the sport, the focus is also on strengthening and developing athletes to prepare them for our competitive program both mentally and physically.
Mini Elite 1’s range in age from 5-7 years old. Athlete’s in this program train for 4 hours per week (2 days x 2 hours).
Mini Elite 2’s range in age from 6.5-8 years old. Athlete’s in this program train for 6 hours per week (2 days x 3 hours).
Entrance into the program is by invitation only. Mini Elite 1 athletes are usually selected from our Tiny Twisters pre-competitive program. Athlete’s can also be selected from our Class 1 and Class 2 recreational programs or from a competitive try out. Mini Elite 2 athletes are generally selected from our Mini Elite 1 program, but may also be selected from our recreational program. Once selected, the athlete has the opportunity to attend one training session with the appropriate Mini Elite group so the athlete, coach, and parents can determine if this program is best suited for the athlete.
The Competitive program runs annually from July to June. The program is for girls 8 and 9 years old. The goal of the program is to prepare the athletes physically, mentally and technically for Champions’ provincial program (Gymnastics Ontario Competitive Program). It will further develop their strength, flexibility, power and endurance which will enhance their fundamental skills.
Entrance into the program is by invitation only. Pre-competitive athletes are selected from our Mini Elite 1 or 2 programs, or from a competitive try out. Once selected, the athlete has the opportunity to attend one training session, so the athlete, coach, and parents can determine if this program is best suited for the athlete.
Athletes on these teams range in age and Gymnastics Ontario JO Levels (Level 3+). Athletes in this group can be selected from the Pre-comp or Team 1 Groups. They train anywhere from 12-20 hours per week. Looking at the JO Levels as a “ladder” the athletes on Team 2, 3, and 4 are working through the JO program very progressively and the intent is to work their way up the JO ladder through levels 3-9. This program takes passion, commitment and dedication to training and a love for the sport of gymnastics.
Team 1 athletes train 12 hours per week (3 days per week)
Team 2 athletes train 13 hours per week (3 days per week)
Team 3 athletes train 15 hours per week (4 days per week)
Team 4 athletes train 17 hours per week (4 days per week)
Team 5 athletes train 18 hours per week (5 days per week)
Team 6 athletes train 20 hours per week (5 days per week including Tuesday afternoon)
